Leaves pattern my path

The wet leaves were the usual autumn path
Until today when I was proud of a giant tree whose giant leaf yealded by me
I thought oh my, haven't you done well
With every drip that made those glossy cells
I looked deeper into it's world and shapes galore my lonely walk filled
I looked for bigger ones but there were none, only small bubbly leaves that could no longer cling on
Yet colder grew the rain on my arms and skin, whilst blury  lampposts were all my looks could charm in
I sang a song for the angels that followed and hoped one burrowed into our minds so troubled.
I collected my nuts from the cheap giant tree and rolled them home for all to see as the ache and pain tried so hard to consume me.
