sunset

crimson   red   sunset
aligned  to   the    platinum   streaked  horizon
pink   flamingo  skies     gather tightly together

an   peaceful evening  of silent   conversation
gently   stampeding  across  the   undulating   terrain
treading   carefully  on   the   crisp   faced   grass
dislodging it   into   place

tracing   each   step   in front
before   leaving   it   behind
gliding over   the   undisturbed  landscape
silently   altering   it

collecting  the   fallen  leaves
releasing   them   into   the   gentle   swirling   breeze
drawing    circles     in   the   sand
skimming    black   slate  across   the  calm   water   of the   beautiful    lake

my  childhood   memories   returning
the   happy   days   of   a   burning   sunset

as  the   years   age
    so   do   i
