Wish

Kimberly Callaway 1989 (Ohio)

I wish you would believe me,
When I say that I love you.
It hurts deep inside my heart,
When you say that I don't.
I wish you could understand,
Just how much you,
Mean to me.
I wish you would,
Believe the words that I say.
I hope one day you will see,
That my words,
And my actions are genuine.
I wish you could see,
How happy you make me feel,
And how glad I am,
That you're in my life.
I honestly didn't think,
I was meant to be happy,
Until I met you.
No matter what you think,
These words are true.
I wish one day,
You will understand,
Just how much you,
Mean to me.
I wish to be,
Your forever,
And your happily,
Ever after.
I wish to be your last,
And first at the same time.
I wish one day,
You'll see your worth,
And that not everything,
Ends badly.
I wish one day,
You'll see just,
How much I love you.

About this poem

I wrote this poem in the beginning of mine and my boyfriend's relationship. He'd been in some bad relationships in the past and wasn't always sure if people actually loved him or were being honest. I wrote it for him in hopes he would see not everyone is fake and he can be loved by someone.
