The Lost Highway

Where is the endless highway?
Paved in sweet escape
Rounding turns of mystery
And lit by moonlight rays

Where is the lost highway?
A place of magic and glee
Imaginatively fortified
And inside you and me

I lost my way down the road
And took a dead end path
I forgot to follow the simple flow
And got lost without a map

Down backroads of confusion
Drifting further from the stretch
I prayed in vain for just a sign
For which direction's best

To my dismay I was granted
Yes, given my desired sign
The words it read were slanted
In italics said "just drive"

Driving down those lonely roads
Hitting curves aplenty
I found the faith to just let go
To see which way it sends me

I carried on my weary way
And then I saw a light
Could it be the lost highway
Under the stary night?

The road it turned smooth
As the highway did unravel
I thanked God for the cruise
And the faith that guides my travels
