Social medias grip

Some days, I wished with all my might,
That she'd embrace rebellion, take her flight.
For she was pure, too good, I feared her seclusion,
Little did I know, it was a different illusion.
She transformed her image, a drastic change,
Fair hair and freckles, she'd rearrange.
With heavy eyeliner and attire so black,
I thought it was a phase, no turning back.
Weeks went by, I saw her less and less,
Her friends online, a digital caress.
Detached I felt, day by day,
My little girl seemed to fade away.
I tried to talk, but she wasn't herself,
Words untrue, like secrets on a shelf.
My heart shattered as she was slipping away,
From the cuddly, open girl who used to play.
I checked her phone, a promise betrayed,
But it was clear, a problem displayed.
A different reality, my world did blur,
Self-harm and more, my thoughts did stir.
Scars on her ankles and arms did tell,
A tale of darkness in her personal hell.
"I feel pressure to do it ," she would say,
I couldn't grasp it, the light turned gray.
In with the wrong crowd, her life entwined,
In horrifying chats, her young soul confined.
I took her phone, a strict decision made,
To save her from a path dangerously laid.
She hated me, that's the truth, I knew,
But I'd do whatever it took to see it through.
With strength and love, we fought the strife,
To bring back the joy, the spark of life.
Today she thanks me, her heart now free,
"I can't believe what I put you through," says she.
We've learned the dangers of social's sway,
And found our path in a brighter day.
This I share to inspire and enlight,
To help parents guide their children right.
Check on them, their privacy invade,
For in their well-being, our love is displayed.
Now she soars with confidence, her spirit revived,
Escaping social media's grip, she thrived.

Its well written and an important message. Lots of these gender cults and groomers prey on children and gain access through the phones.
