I knew

I knew
I always knew
But who would want to believe that their lie is not true
Why would I want to believe that you could be a Devil too?

I saw the light and I felt the heat
I knew your ways yet I listened to my heart beat
Because I knew
I always knew

I was Superman and You were my Kryptonite
I had it all but with You I could not put up a fight
Yet I knew
I always knew

But who would want to believe that their love is not true
You were the paradise I could spend my long days
Now you are the hell I wish I never faced

But I knew
I always knew
I am a man with a thousand words
But with You a hundred made my days worse
If only I believed that you were my curse
Then I would not be sitting here writing this hell verse

I will never change who I am due to your treason
I will be better and you will never be the reason
But now I know
I know because I knew

I walk between heaven and hell with a hole in my chest
Constantly wishing myself the best
No brakes, I have no time to rest
For time spent with you has become my greatest regret

Because I knew
I always knew
But I did not want it to be true
I wanted it
I wanted it to be You

Olando Copeland

For most of my life I was told that I should find a way to share my thought to the world. I found poetry and it became the outlet or the bridge that connects my mind to reality. I love writing and performing arts. more…
