Hurt, Lost, Confused, Conflicted

Hurt, lost, confused, and conflicted

Never knew so much pain could be inflicted
Reality has set in and opened my eyes
Trying hard to escape to deal with the lies
He came into my life and treated me with respect
Showing me things I will never forget
Although our time has ended, and we drifted apart
I know deep down inside you will have a special place in my heart
Unfortunate events has led to this,
Taking away my innocence that no longer exists
I gave, gave, and gave my all
Only just to feel belittled and small
The good, the bad, and then there’s reality
Doing things that doesn’t agree with his sexuality
I’m hurt, I’m confused, and I’m conflicted
Protecting my heart and peace that is now restricted.

Nataki DeGraffenreid

Hello, My name is Nataki DeGraffenreid, I am 29 years old and I am from the Boston Massachusetts. I’ve decided to tap back into my passion. I’ve used to write on and off poetry for some years, but a recent experience has led to start writing again. So, much I want to say, I’m using my gift through my experience to form poetry that other individuals could relate or empathize with. I hope you enjoy this piece that I wrote, it’s a free-write based on a real life experience that I’m dealing with. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and I’m looking forward to some suggestions!! more…
