Good Night Buga
My friend is physically no more
Spiritually present forever more
A CYONITE with a difference
A leader with calm ambiance
A commander in Legion of Mary
A proclaimer of God's words to merry
A Holy childhood animator and motivator
A born and a true mentor always ready to tutor
An epitome of love and God's glory
A fierce soldier of the Lord that fight to glory
Like Lazarus of Bethany
You slept in angels' company
Your simplicity and kindness
Portray in you thy righteousness
Sleep well my dear friend where there are no foes
Where you are there will be no harm to your toes
Beautiful trees and breathe taking flowers
Shall guide your paths to the most High tower
Gold, perfume and precious stone from Pishon
Will be beneath thy foot as you cross Gihon
Tigris and Euphrates will wash away thy frailties
We the living corps in this peril world appreciate thy qualities.
Rest with the angels and saints of God till we come home.
About this poem
The poem "Good Night Buga" expresses the sudden demise of a young lady named Buga. She was an active church lady who was spiritually attacked by a close friend and after a series of warfare at last she goes home to rest. The poet pin point her Commitment while alive and express his conviction that Buga has won the warfare and gone to rest with the Lord. The first couplet suggest the physical absent and spiritual presence of Buga who was a friend to the poet. The poem is full of imagery, allusion with a touch of romance. more »
