Did I wake up today?

Did you wake up today in the cloudy haze of the taste of regret on your tongue?
Dry smacking lips of alcohol and old vape pens.
I’m never doing that again.

Today is my day to recreate the future of my existence.
I’ve got this.  I don’t need anyone.  I will do this on my own.
I’ve got this.
I’ve got this.
I’ve got this.

What time is it?
I’m not feeling great.

Ok, I’ve got this if I can get rid of this feeling.

I don’t want another drink.
I don’t want another drink.

I just need a little bit to help me feel better.
If I slow down that will work.  Just a drink.

What time is it?
What time is it?

The bar opens at 11.

What time is it?

Oh, it’s 10:45, maybe I’ll walk my dog.
Oh, isn’t it wonderful that the bar is dog friendly.
I’ll just hang out outside.  No drinks today.

I get to the bar inside and I get a beer and a shot of whiskey.
I didn’t order it.  It’s just what I need.
Just one.
Just one.
Just one.
Just one.
Just one.
Just one.

What time is it?
I’m feeling so much better.  I’m so glad I did this today.

I should probably cancel my plans this evening.  I’ll look too drunk.
Yes, I’ll cancel.

Time to take the dog home.  I’ll close out.
I’ll close out and get one more.
Just one.

I need a nap.
Maybe ill lay down a bit.

5 pm.
I’m feeling great.  I’ll go to the other bar since I need to eat.
I’ll get just one round.
Just one.
Just one.
Just one.

Tomorrow I’ll be better.
Tomorrow I’ll be better.
Tomorrow I’ll be better.
Tomorrow I’ll be better.

Did you wake up today in the cloudy haze of the taste of regret on your tongue?
Dry smacking lips of alcohol and old vape pens.

I’m never doing that again……

Did I wake up today?
