Deceit

Free verse
I always thought I knew you best
but what I saw put my assumptions to rest
I saw the good in you , whilst you saw the bad in me
i cleaned up your mess but , you were the cause of mine
i shielded you from the dark , whilst you shielded me from the light
I spoke praises on repeat , whilst you spoke ill of me
I was too blind to notice the deceit .
