Child

Sophie love 2004 (Batesville)

What child am I to ponder this dark side?

Sitting in the pew hiding from his face

Wondering what I may see if I tried

My soul that is trapped in a state of grace

I tell myself.. to suppress my guilt felt

But his love is not abounded in one place

His mercy rings out as the angels belt

The beautiful melody heard in space

That will relieve the stress that makes me melt

Into a puddle of tears, but God’s race

On Earth where all living things he has dealt

Experiences his unchanging grace

What child am I to ponder our dark side?

When God’s love will be eternally wide…

About this poem

It’s about our ability to be able to forgive ourselves even when we make mistakes or bad decisions. We are all human at the end of the day.

Sophie love

I’m 19 years old and attending Arkansas tech university in russellville, Arkansas. I was born and raised in a small town with my closest neighbors being cows. I’m definitely a small town girl at heart, and have a big love for God and sharing my faith with others in hopes I can help them love themselves and the world surrounding them. I also am an avid golfer and half marathon runner! more…
