A Bottle

Covered with a label
Temptation of a drink
Thirsty you say?
A bottle of escape
One down 23 to go!
Eww that was nasty
But the burn
That tumbles down the throat
Soon feelings will disappear
And be full of laughter
Joy
A bottle that says drink me
But die after
10 down 13 to go
Can’t hold my head up
Heart filled with silenced emotions
A bottle they say
Huh yeah
I call it escape
Almost done
dang that was quick
My body is wobbly
Tossing stomach
Like salad filled with sauce
Woke up
feeling lost
A bottle
That’s empty
And a life filled with
exhaust
Knowing I can’t live this way
Not like this Anymore
A Bottle
Thats
Wrapped
In A
Label
Drink they say
That bottle is
Escape
Yeah right what makes you
think you will be ok ?

About this poem

addiction is real and people turn to it for escape but all reality is that it will drown you until you are dead if you know someone that needs help don’t judge just try to help They have no control because of this escape They feel they are doing it is a sickness and I suffered it starting at the age of 15 stopped at 32 There are many resources out there from food to counseling and rehab only when they are sick and tired of being sick and tired
