Beautiful Angel

Beautiful Angel

The air is calm
Slightly chilly
What’s left of the leaves on the branches are still
Every year around this time always feels the same
But not this year
There is so much sadness
Pain flowing through the air
Memories are what is left of you
I look at the different colors of fall
You come to mind
Camping comes to mind
Past stories being told
Laughter around the campfire
Your laughter is unforgettable
Thankful I found videos of it so I can play it over and over again
Life already feels different since you left
Rather since you gained your wings
It hasn’t fully settled in my head
Yet I’m slowly coming to terms with it
The outside air
Still calm
But there is difference in it
I can’t quite put my finger on what makes it feel so different
Maybe it truly is because you’re gone
Maybe I’m hoping to hear you or feel you in the wind
Trying to reconnect with nature
Reconnect with you
I hope when I sleep I can see you once more
When I close my eyes all I see is blackness until I wake the next morn
Taking day by day
Struggling
I miss you so much
I still have so much life until I see you again
But I know one day you will greet me with open arms
Until that day fly high beautiful angel.
