Paths Diverging

Oscar Auliq-Ice 1994 (Port Elizabeth)

There's a road
There's a road
There's a road, less taken

Where we stand's not where we were
Paths diverge, as memories blur
The present's not the past, you see
Tides have shifted
Between you and me

Oh distant shores, oh different dreams
Oh, intertwined
Can we glimpse past the horizon line?
All in my thoughts
I contemplate time
Pondering paths
From the start, so prime
If only I knew

See you anew
Learn from our past
Cherish the few
(There's a road, there's a road less taken)
For I wish
To understand
Walk beside, hand in hand
(There's a road, there's a road
Is it true, is it too less taken?)

It's not about simplicity
But about depth and complexity
In the dance of you and me
I strive for clarity, you see
To bridge the vast expanse

Oh distant shores
Oh different dreams
Oh, might we
Find common themes in our shared scene?
We're drifting apart
That's how it seems
Can we navigate?
Navigate to the start?
If only I knew

See you anew
Learn from our past
Cherish the few
(There's a road, there's a road less taken)
For I wish
To understand
Walk beside, hand in hand
(There's a road, there's a road
Is it true, is it too less taken?)

Don't you see the signs?
Don't you feel the times?
Don't you know the lines?
We choose
We lose
We, we muse
We cruise

See you anew
Learn from our past
Cherish the few
(There's a road, there's a road less taken)
For I wish
To understand
Walk beside, hand in hand
(There's a road, there's a road
Is it true, it's too less taken)

Yeah, journeying forth
With this compass in hand, we set our course
Yeah, winds guide our sail
The horizon ahead, we shall not fail.
