There goes the day

Daniel Roggeveen 1966 (Auckland)

A sneeze, a cough
And yay! We’re off
To painsville
With another busted rib

A yell, a mutter
A painful stifled stutter
The Painsville sign is lit up
Like a squib

One dares not cough
and set it off
Lest shifting bone should slip

A cuppa tea
Will be the key
To buttoning my lip.

About this poem

This poem describes the frustration and pain that accompanies cancer, specifically Multiple Myeloma, which I’ve had for two years now. Because of it’s growth within my bones, they become very weak and break regularly.
