"Reflections Unmasked"

In a world where mirrors can deceive,
Lies a pain, a torment hard to believe,
Body Dysmorphia, a silent wail,
Within a mind trapped in a haunting tale.

It starts as whispers, quiet, small,
A gnawing doubt that's bound to enthrall,
A skewed perception, distorted view,
Of what's real, what's beautiful, what's true.

Invisible shackles tightly wound,
Around the soul, an echo's sound,
Whispering cruel, relentless lies,
As tears are hidden in the eyes.

They search for flaws that don't exist,
In the mirror's gaze, they persist,
Every blemish, every mark,
Leaves an everlasting scar.

The pain they bear, both deep and wide,
With every passing day, they hide,
Behind a mask, a brave façade,
Though inside, they're slowly gnawed.

A war waged against themselves,
Chasing an image, like elusive elves,
But beauty isn't skin deep, we know,
It's found within, let that love flow.

Let us be the light that guides their way,
To brighter dawns and a brand-new day,
For in unity, we'll help them see,
Their worth, their strength, their true beauty.

Body Dysmorphia, it can be cruel,
But with love and support, we'll fuel,
A hope that heals, a strength to mend,
The pain, the torment, and make amends.

So, let's embrace those fighting the fight,
With understanding, compassion, and light,
For in their struggle, we'll surely find,
A resilience and beauty of a unique kind.
