I Love a Sister
I love a sister whose spirit springs and coils
About her like the tight curls on her head.
She awaits her fearless warrior, come to carry away his spoils,
To navigate her nightly mounds, soft, warm bed,
For the weary soldier ready to shed
His iron husk, and take root in her soil.
I love a sister carrying the sun in waves on her top,
Eyes like green pastures, beckoning the shepherd.
Her song, sweet galloping winds on mountaintops,
Dares him to rein her in and her freedom begird.
Her words, elixir that he drinks to the last drop,
Enrapture his will, scattering it abroad to the birds
I love a sister whose hair spills on her shoulders,
Pitch waters of a river, flowing on a moonless night.
She entices the swimmer to a dive after hours
And receives him in her folds, making her embrace tight.
She woos him with kisses and the promises she whispers;
Her slanted eyes lingering, never letting him out of her sight
I love a sister whose tears well up inside her smile;
Her beauty seeping, unchained by her shackling veil,
Her wailing laughter, traveling at dawn, defiantly docile
Where she dances with the shadows, following in her trail.
She gazes at the birth of a new day, trying to reconcile
The ode inside her to the world’s solemn oath of betrayal.
I love a sister filled to the brim with the depths of the sky,
Holding in her stare the untamed splendor of the ocean.
Her golden locks, ripen wheat, swaying on windy hills, up high,
Heavenly harvest for the reaper whose hands spring into action.
She appoints him the surveyor of her territories, of her every sigh.
He abdicates his kingdom to abide in her fields of passion.
I love a sister!
