Parting Company

Here's a poem i hope you read
Because I think you really need
To check your website to make sure
That credit card numbers are secure.

Please let me now tell you why:
My August poem was my first try
To write a poem I hoped would please.
I had a way to pay the fees.

I used my credit card that day
For the fee I had to pay...
A card I'd used for many years
With no concern nor any fears.

But then a single week went by
When I was asked to identify
A strange new charge against my card
Caught by Synchrony security guard.

I didn't freeze my card in terror.
I told Chase Bank it was an error.
I even used that Chase card number
To submit my next poem in September.

Can you guess what happened next?
In one week's time I got a text.
Another strange charge had appeared,
The very thing I should have feared.

Since it happened once before
I can't allow it one time more.
It's going to be extremely hard
To tell folks of my cancelled card.

I don't think it's coincidence,
I've now lost my confidence.
Although i hate to drop this bomb,
I've lost my trust in Poetry.com.

You've seen the last of poems I write.
Please take my name off your website.
