Sleep Now

Sleep now my darling
For the silence is dead
Cover your eyes while aloft near my head
And as I step near
I pray against your fears
For now as you’re sleeping
I’m weeping
Come here
Come closer, my darling
Wipe away my gentle tear
As I lean down and whisper
My lips against your soft ear
I drink in your fear
You move and you twitch
And in an itch
I dash away fast
You move in your fright
I decide to leave you
For another night
