Season of deity

Ivy kalu 2002 (Port Harcourt)

A life of chaos, and a moment of peace or a life of peace, and a moment of chaos...choose wisely amorè, it is indeed a very thin line
We can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness
the type of nothingness that comes bearing the gifts of false validity and activity
Or?....
The freeing sensation of emptiness,  like the gentle wind that brings the calm of oneness and true self
Those red threads of karmic bonds, heavy chains of trauma and anger, and soul ties that were never meant to be
Sadly, it's time to let go
move like the ocean waves, be as flexible as water, intimidating as the sun, outstanding as the stars, free as the birds and comforting, as the moon.

My name is ivy, and I'm a psychology student in my third year. I am 21 years old, and im an aspiring clinical psychologist and poet. I started writing poems at a young age, since high school. It was a talent that came out of the blue, but im appreciative of having such a gift. Poetry is a form of expression for me, it's a platform for me to voice out my thoughts, in doing so, it makes me feel less lonely. My reason for submitting this particular poem, out of all my poems, is because.. this poems represent a new, obscure and most wonderful phase in my life that i walked into, it is also the first poem that i wrote, after a writer's block that lasted for 3 years(a not so love letter) I'm looking forward to sharing more of my writings with you, especially the new project im working on, that's called THE AGE OF ADALI. more…
