Luna

Dusty and dented, the Moon holds the light of an object a thousand times greater.

All its imperfections on display for the whole world.

Craters so large, they couldn’t possibly be filled by man alone.

Yet it continues to shine in the darkness.

So I know I can too.

Soft, simple, short, POWERFUL. It is not easy to draw analogies from nature—at least, not one’s as metaphorically as powerful as the one this poem draws on: the moon.

So well crafted and expressed, not one word was added that didn’t need to be. This short poem says so much in its brevity that it would take volumes of Jungian research to arrive at its very profound conclusion.

This piece has officially become one of my all time favorites: I foresee myself sharing it with friends, referring back to it through the course of my own studies, and reading and revisiting it for years.
