I have an illusion

I have an illusion that one day, common sense will rule once again.
A sense that won't justify killing by any means and on no one's behalf or name.
A sense that says: Your country and home are the same; don't let anyone drag you into their own dirty game.

I have an illusion that one day, when common sense rules once again,
Children will be children and their parents will be the ones who'll show them the way.
A sense that will give our elders back their well-earned respect; they were here before us. (Sorry, Chrisley, but they know best.)

I have an illusion that one day, if common sense will rule once again,
Reality shows will show the reality, using no filters in any form or way.
And although it's considered "cool" to say the F's and the B's…
I wish to hear a full sentence with no **##-** and no beeps.

I have an illusion that one day, when common sense returns,
War, hunger, and climate changes will be long-forgotten and unused terms.
Money and success will be only means to fulfill some of life's opportunities.
A day we’ll realize our idols are near and close, not the ones on T.V., not those.

An illusion I have today, so it may be;
But I hope for tomorrow it will become...a dream.
