I am Rin of the Benyia

Clan Hagakure I originate
The only survivor,
Of a village consumed in ash and fire
Leaving my now destroyed village,
I travel by boat.

I sit with this burning in my throat
Tears threaten to fall from the pillage
If only we knew of this prior,
So we could've killed the arriver
A bile of red in my gut—hate.

I don't know where to go
But I know what I must do
I must avenge my clan
I must take these wrong doers lives
For they have taken my clans' and mine.

Corner of my eye, something shine
A blank look, a white fox mask gives
This will help in my plan
I hold this mask to my face as tears grew
Vengeance will cure this woe...

I am Rin of the Benyia.

About this poem

This poem is from the prospective of one of the two characters, named Rin, you can play from a Ps2 game called "Tenchu Fatal Shadows". It follows her portion of the game's opening cut scene. I initially wrote this poem's title to actual be read at the end of the poem and I intend to keep that usage here.
