NONSENSE

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I feel as if I am sleeping, walking within these dreams of mine. The mirrors on the revolving doors that are dirty with other people's fingerprints keep the time. All I want to do is wake up, have my cup of morning tea, take my shit, and pee, put on the news on t.v. and watch it because it reminded me of when I was a kid eating my fruity pebbles looking for the toy at the bottom of the box while wanting to watch the flintstone and wanting to slide down a dinosaur.

Something is out there, but I do not know precisely what it is. Another fall night sky, and I'm waiting for winter snow-covered grounds to answer the many questions to my seas of whys. I was never one to back down from a fight or take the easy way out. When people saw me in my younger years, the words fight were what they used to shout.

I  am not a victim; I get wiser and more rigid over time. Something is out there telling me you are just not a body. You are not like the others on the mass production line. You have our heart and soul living in your mind.

I am holding on to every damn thing a little bit tighter because life is a blessing life is a curse you can not rehearse. You can be carried away in your shadows that will hold your way home, or you can have the grave digger take you in the horse-drawn carriage alone, and that's just nonsense.
