The Dunce

For decades to continue on that way,
One has been called...
A moron.
A fool.
An incompetent idiot.
And a narcissist with a tremendous ego.
Done to hear many repeatedly say,
To wonder out loud...
'Why?'

Why is this one guy,
Known to deceive, fraud, corrupt and lie.
Followed as if a matineè idol.
And worshipped to symbolize,
As the only and best representation...
To be their greatest hope alive to witness,
The Miracle before their eyes.
With this to observe and curiously ask why?

'Tell me something.
Why would so many people come together.
Cheer and applaud,
Someone who is obviously selling fraud.
And topped off,
With a hoodwinking that dupes to trick them...
Into an unexplainable ecstasy.
What addicts like this.'

'Huh?
What a dick like this can do what???'

'I said,
What addicts like this?
How can folks be sold on such B.S.
And yet,
Accept to expect more of it?'

'And...uh...
Not one to know that answer,
To satisfy your question asked.
Would you be here for a different reason,
Than the rest of us are?
Or...
Are you hoping to get close enough,
To kiss the ring or the butt...
Of the Chosen One?
And there is no need to publicly reveal,
Your preference.
However...
All of us are here to witness,
What our favorite fool...
Does next to suggest we do as well.'

'What has happened?
What has happened,
To the minds of the people?'

'Hasn't it been made obvious enough,
That we, and you too, are out of our minds?
All of this nonsense,
Had been invited to normalize it.
And don't come around now to pretend,
You were not aware of any of it...
Shown to see it started.
First to claim to blame it on,
Urban neighborhoods to distract reality!'

'I object to your alleged assessments.'

'And I object to your pretentious attempts,
To keep fictioning a truth to delude.
As a way to keep your craze validated.'

'Oh yeah?
Well,
I object to the way you object to my objection!'

'Sounds good to me.
I will take your objection.
To do that done.
With a validating your craze and raise you,
Two nuts!
One for you and the other for your leader.'

'And, by the way,
I am allergic to cashews.
Pistachios are fine.
As long as they are salt free.
Organic and naturally grown.'

'We are either blind or out of our minds.
Which is it?'

'Both with no exceptions.
Regardless of accusations made.
Or judgements to pass them.
All of this stuff is nuts!'
