Dreams

M LEE AHMET 1983 (Putnam)

As I fell asleep, I had a dream
Of a place I've been to once before
A place I knew in my heart
I was destined to be
There was a beautiful light guiding me to an opened door
At that moment I saw my entire life like a light flash before me
This a place that exists only in your mind
Depending on where you go
Is exactly what you'll find
Where I was there was always someone with open arms
And to be a true friend
Because where I was there was just a beginning
There is no end
There are diamonds hanging from everywhere
At this moment, I put away my pain
I threw away my fear
I feel as though, I’m soaring through the lonely skies
When no one cares
No one cries
It was an everlasting dream
This place was beautiful beyond belief
And so out of sight
I knew in my heart deep down inside
The time was just right
