I am to blame

In shadows deep and tears that fall,
shattered one who gave his all.
A heart once steady, now dispersed,
A love I  took and left him cursed.

He saw in me an angel's gleam,
A beacon in his darkest dream.
With tender words and gentle touch,
He gave his heart, he loved so much.

But foolishly I played a game,
Unaware of all his pain.
danced within his fragile heart,
Not knowing I would tear it apart.

With whispers sweet, I played my part,
But deep inside, I broke his heart.
His dreams now shattered, love now lost,
The fallout of my callous cost.

Oh, what a fool, so blind was I,
To see the love that passed me by.
Regrets now haunt me in the night,
For causing such a painful plight.

wish I could rewind the past,
To undo the hurt, to make it last.
To heal the wounds, to mend his soul,
And show him love can be made whole.

But all I'm left with now is grief,
A realization far too brief.
For deep inside, the truth knew,
That I was wrong, and his love true.

So here I stand with a heavy heart,
To mend the pieces torn apart.
To seek forgiveness, beg for grace,
And hope someday he finds his place.
