Erased
Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)
Enraptured
by the days
when first we met
i continue to believe
you kept me close Beside you
somehow Despite the madness
Through the sadness and the misery
By your sense of commitment
The intensity of Your interest
in everything you do
The easy way which you display
loving energy
How you make me feel
When we take quiet walks
To anywhere or nowhere
As we gaze
Into each other’s eyes
For brief everlasting moments
Whenever we are together
And if we ever do
What we profess to urgently desire
Not just sit and talk of our intentions
It will become a part of me
the memory
which Can never
be erased
