Love for Fire

It’s a providence that we’re here, I mean,
find the lines from
the unmantled blue of the sky,
and find where we had been.
Fire didn’t tell me what not to do. Crooning air laboured hard in telling
the aspects of mirth and dejection, yet
failed to dog the God out of me.
Let’s go for a walk, you and I,
hundreds and thousands along the miles,
past sun, fire, water and hold water
from the fire that has always been.
Lets go for a walk and find the fire.

About this poem

In the vortex of passing trails of life, we lose the fire that flicker within us. It may fire for many targets, love, prayer, God, Deities, Nature, Mother, the Country, or just anything you covet for. Let us hold the fire to achieve what we want. Let us hold the vigor that emboldens us to create and sustain. let us hold the water.

Like King Solomon’s Qoheleth, this is an introspective poem by a poet in his senior years desiring in his soliloquy to have us join him in recapturing the vigorous fire of his youthful years.
