THE FLY BY

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

Let us remove all our masks, for it is not Halloween every day; this is not a strip show, but let us get naked. This is not a porno movie, but let us get real and raw and show each other what during the day we thought they saw. I was hoping you could give me some options that allow us to be each other's directors in the shadow of the light when we play king and queen of the mountain all night.

Neither of us can sleep, and I'm lost in thought, and I'm starting into our souls fall real deep, and that can only spell T-R-O-U-B-L-E, so let us speak our truths and pour another double.

Let us go around on this merry-go-round as we play spin the bottle. It is now empty anyway and is not the only thing turning. You can choose to lose or win or pick up the excellent book and tell me how I'm living my life and yours in sin.

Let us thank each other for who I am: a complicated yet simple man trying to understand the writing on the wall. Sometimes, I need you to explain everything, and you reply that you can try, but we are drunk on reality. That others do not yet know exist

Let us fall into each other, let us fall into place, fall into space, and walk night and day until we find a newspaper with the headline saying finally, man has met his decline, and the aliens just kept shaking their heads as they flew by, asking the simple questions they all wear multiple masks but why
