By the Sea
Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)
Riding a wave
from somewhere in the past
We rise and fall
together and apart
Even as we continue
Falling in concert as rain
Our interactions conforming
to the creative processes of life
Living growing sharing
in the Now
Like leaves being caught up
Tumbling in the wind,
as particles of sand
Standing out among others
Struck by incoming
outgoing waves In momentary flight
While being absorbed by shifting sands
Scattered along the beach as you and i
seeking to understand
why we are here
Or stars in the sky
Absorbing energies
Impelled by forces of majesty
Beyond imagination…
through these
Moments of eternity …
as this Dynamic equation
continues unfolding.
As friends,
once and/or forever
Moving ever further
along in our lives
Following this slipstream…
of existence
This space in time shared
while flowing harmoniously
through realms
Of greater horizons
Beyond
