People

Everyone has a story.
Walking around with our pasts, traumas, insecurities, worries, demons.
Holding on to our comforts, victories, happiness, memories.
All of this hidden behind our clothes, hair, jewellery, material things.
We smile to hide the pain, use manners to get by in society to blend in away from the judgements.
How can we feel broken yet still walk?
Everyone you walk past has a story!
Respect the fragility in others and protect the fragility in you.
Everyone has a story,
Same as you do!

About this poem

I was sitting on public transport one day feeling down and as I started to look at the faces of the people around me I wondered how many of those faces hide a world of sadness behind them. So I wrote this during my journey on that bus.
