Moving away seems like my getaway from reality
People I cherish growing old, and death is a formality
Grief is new to me, something I don’t know how to handle
Pain is something I wish you could blow out like a candle

Time flies when your having fun is what I was told
Completely Unaware of everyone around me growing old
Goodbye was something I said without thought
Tomorrow isn’t promised is something I wasn’t taught

School was a chore you couldn’t wait to leave
Full time work however makes you realise it’s a breeze
Being young is something you wish away more often that not
24 and I wish I could go back to being a tiny tot

Who makes it official when your all grown up
Responsibilities, bills and a love life with regular check ups
Mortgage, pensions and the dreaded credit score
Watching the news could convince anyone of a fourth world war
