Independence Day

The kites soaring high in the sky,
The dreams on a flight
With the gushing winds,
The string in the hands firm,
Weaving through the Laws of the Land,
Tugging, at times fiercely,
To boost, to scan, to intercept
The able and the feeble wriggling,
Out of the shield
Learning, rising, gleaming,
Falling, wrestling, leaning,
To surrender or to surmount?
The kites- peppered across the horizon,
The radiant, the dull, luminous and the pristine white,
Unshackled from the bond of doubt,
Trampling over the fear of past
Rewriting the script for a future,
Cohesive is action,
Rising in unison is a billion aspirations
With the Sankalpa in the heart,
March across the soils a billion steps.

Happy Independence Day
