Immortality

David Armenta 1978 (Wheat ridge, co)

Immortality
I can no longer, see you in my dreams,
so to me you’ve lost all, immortality.
Ur a vision I don’t wanna see.
Because you’ve lost all,
immortality.
U become a nightmare, when u used brighten up my dreams.

Waking up, stomach mad
I just need a plastic bag
Party til we can’t keep our eyes open
anymore
Cut it up again
Sniff more sniff more
Light it up drink the bo
Cuz ur entity
Doesn’t matter to me
Anymore
or at all
Cuz when I was reaching
Ur hand was always closed
Unless it was about you
ur hand was always closed

Pills I take day to night to day
The liquor that quenches my soul
For just a second more
When when I was was drowning frowning
Laughing coughing running aimlessly'
And jumped into ur arms I once trusted
To only taste the ground and the sound
Of my breath releasing as much as I could
To hyperventilate take the wind out of me
And I would still jump.
Full force into the depths below
Waiting for fingers to slowly break my fall
All I felt was fingernails and failure
Scathing me to a joking point
But the point doesn’t matter
Anymore
The line in the sand I promised
I’d never cross again
Instead I push it further and further back
And erase the trails path
To tell myself
I never been here
before

These pills slowly, start to release
inside of me
An alcohol shot, we’ll make it even better
More numbing of the body
This mind could be paralyzed
And still keep me awake to contemplate
Resonate, laugh at my self hate, rage
Lost in a forest picking off leaves
Thinking it will rejuvenate
something inside of me
to become
 irrelevant to this atmospheric
Air that exhales
so I don’t have to inhale
Because breath of life
Means less than what it did once before
I close my eyes try to sleep
I want to be in that place where I’m safe
The souls around accept and grow
Become a new species that only the secrets we once told
Those notes we folded then ripped up
Because it was just between us

Now when I sleep
I can no longer see your face
Your voice is no longer a guidance
Eyes that lead me
to places, I didn’t know I was living
Were see through,
clear like Siran wrap
Crumbled, and stuck together
And will never will be the same
once I, pull it apart
Those wrinkles will be, all I see
These dreams
I journal
used to speak of ur eternity
ur influence
I can no longer believe
Cuz
You’ve lost all
immortality
Erased from my dreams
I don’t even remember, the beauty
When ur curious eyes would blink w
curiosity
Ur voice, doesn’t speak to me

I would say I’ll see you again
But once you are no longer
apart of my dreams
You’ve lost your immortality
to me
and I can’t even remember what day it is”
Let alone the

About this poem

It’s about my crazy life I lived and still live. Who I am and still am and become. Letting go of clutches of hands that hold u back or letting go of the selfish energy that sucks away the energy around you
