A Mere Illusion

Ironic that strangers
have become my insatiable joy.
Family is still deranged with all their
endless games and ploys.
The talented lay waste to their brains,
consumed with their electronic noise.
Teenage heart throbs
waste away in vain j
ust to appease to the pleasure of boys.
Why must society dish out
such hard pills to take?
Any act of kindness
seems to be followed by all that is fake.
Forsake.
Such a forsaken lot.
They bubble and spew up their brains
till all that is left is rot.
A thought,
It's such a mere illusion.
The beauty in women
just seems to distract
and lead them all in confusion.
 Solutions,
what more could their be?
I yearn for the day
our children's' trauma wasn't
the only thing that came free.

Hello! I'm an artist, writer, and college student navigating the colorful journey of life. Amidst the whirlwind of academia and raising my wonderful children, I've discovered solace and passion in the world of creativity. As a dedicated student, I'm pursuing my dreams of higher education while also embracing the joys and challenges of parenthood. The canvas of my life is painted with the hues of multitasking, time management, and an unyielding spirit. Writing, for me, is more than just putting words on paper; it's a means of self-expression, connection, and growth. In the quiet moments when the world settles down and my children are asleep, I find my sanctuary in weaving stories that reflect the intricacies of life. These stories remind me that I'm not alone in this journey, that the experiences and emotions we share are what bind us together as a community. Through art, I channel my emotions and perspectives onto the canvas. Each brushstroke is a glimpse into my soul, a visual representation of my thoughts and feelings. The act of creation is a meditative process that allows me to escape the demands of life, even if just for a while. Why do I enjoy writing? Because it's a bridge that connects the many facets of my identity. It's a way to share my experiences as a student, a parent, and an artist. It's a way to express the beauty and challenges of life, to ignite conversations and spark connections. And most importantly, it's a way to remind myself that amidst the chaos, there's always room for creativity and growth. more…
