Night and Day Have Death

He walks amongst us
Death lives in his soul
His eyes have no reflection
His heart an empty core

You already know of him
From others spoken words
He's the Quiet in the Night
Who killed the Mockingbird

Death challenges the Night
Then takes away the noose
It doesn't take Night long
To figure out he's loose

Challenge calls the bet
Then Day holds her breath
Night brings home to Day
Another Death to rest

Clouds pass over Valleys
But refuse to cry
They bump into the Mountains
Then linger in the Sky

Before the Night comes to an end
The Sun will start to rise
Then Night and Day will ask the Sun
"Give Death another try?"
