Numbness Can Be Healed

Numbness creeps in
Like a fog on a winter's day
A feeling of detachment
And everything fades away

Emotions become distant
And pain seems to disappear
A sense of emptiness
As if nothing is truly here

Numbness can be a shield
Protecting us from harm
But it can also be a burden
Leaving us feeling alarm

Emotions once vibrant
Now dulled and decayed,
Like a fading sunset
Losing its vibrant shade.

I search for a spark
A flicker of light,
To thaw the frozen heart
To make wrongs feel right
But the numbness persists
Like a shadow so deep
Engulfing my spirit In its icy grip it keeps

Oh, how I long to feel
To truly be alive
To taste the sweetness of joy
To let sadness thrive
But the numbness prevails
A silent foe it seems
Leaving me adrift
Lost in a sea of empty dreams

Yet, amidst the numbness
A glimmer of hope I see
A reminder that feelings can still set me free
For in the darkest moments
When numbness takes its toll
I'll keep searching for warmth
To heal my weary soul

So let us be mindful
Of the numbness we may feel
And seek connection and warmth
To help us truly heal

About this poem

Numbness can be healed. Sometimes we just need a push of encouragement in order to get through the process.
