Devotion, Obsession

How can you possibly tell me
To let you go
If you planted flowers in my chest
I would cut myself open
To let the sun shine upon them
I would crack my own ribs
To give them room to grow
I would water them
With endless tears
How can you tell me
To let you go
You are the shadow of a woman
Who haunts my dreams each night
And I only sleep
To chase you from one to the next
Always reaching
But never grasping
How can you tell me
To let you go
You are my beginning
And my end
