Reverie cottage

I dreamed of that cottage by the sea,
On a cold autumn night with a nice cuppa tea ,
Logs on the fire , spuds on the stove ,
My little house, my treasure trove,

A welcoming mat sits inside the door
My dog sleeps peacefully on the floor
Clock is ticking , it's getting late,
A sudden sound , the breeze sways the gate.

The smoke from the coal fire in the air,
That familiar smell, nothing can compare,
Waves crashing lustily on the rocks
It's that time of year , before Equinox

Fallen leaves lie crumpled on the ground,
The trees stand naked on the stony mound
The wind whistles softly, it's nearly light,
Back to reality, and a new day in sight.
