The dandelion clock

I picked the loades dandelion stem and I blew
watching each of the seedlings as they flew.
1-o’clock, 2-o’clock, counting each hour,
hoping each seed would become a new flower.

7-o’clock, 8-o’clock, they wafted into the sky
11-o’clock, 12-o’clock, as the hours flew by.
15-o’clock, 16-o’clock, I was having such fun
watching each seedling fly up to the sun
