Hell's Inferno

Anthony Cochran 1982 (Chicago)

Surrounded by a towering inferno
My life is hell in the making
I have nowhere to hide and no place to go
And it feels like my insides are baking
The flames grow higher as they devour
As the smoke dances like gray ghosts in the skies
And as I am down to my last hour
I still can believe what I'm seeing with my eyes
For there he stands laughing and full of evil
There is no denying it this is no illusion
For the man laughing is surely the devil
And I have come to the dreadful conclusion
That I'm down to my last breath
And he is her to witness my death
