Time Won’t Hold You

Game’s always changing
You don’t always win
Pick up the pieces
And begin it again

You can look back
When you’re on the right track
At how far you’ve gone
And when you’ve had enough and the moment is up
You will overcome

‘Cause time will not ever hold you
And plenty of your plans will come true
When it all kicks in - it’s the best that your life has been
You learn what you needed to know -
That you came here to grow

Put through the paces
You always get through
Your smile and your laughter
Are a heaven preview

Now that you’ve found
You can get off the ground
Life’s at full song
And if you take off - you’ll end up landing soft
Right where you belong

‘Cause time will not ever hold you
And there aren’t any demands you’re owed to
When love filters in - we’re left with no indecision
And this is what we’re meant to know
This much we all need to know
Til the day we’re called home

About this poem

Just wanted to say with this that, “you are enough,” and that staying positive is a good strategy.

Jeffrey Powell

A bit of an introvert, Jeffrey enjoys arranging words and dabbling in poetic forms as an outlet for expressing his thoughts, feelings, and observations. He tends to play by his own rules and darts in and out of the civilized world, as avoiding the conventional gathering is more his style. Jeffrey lives with his fraternal twin whom he enjoys sharing a laugh with at the opportune time. more…
