Serenty

The wind blows light
     The evergreen;
A mountain's view
     Yet so serene.
Its stillness stirs
     A tranquil mind,
That helps to quell
     My weary grind.

A young bird to
     Its mother calls,
 An autumn's leaf
     Reluctant fall.
A deer evokes
     A calm to me,
As he just stops
     And stares at me.

Chipmunks run to
     Stock their fodder,
Crows behind to
     Steal and bother.
A breeze that whisps
     Where er it will,
A blackbirds task
      To eat his fill.

If like narure,
     Peace dwells within,
Then why not me
     Instead of sin.
So like nature
     I wish to be:
Serenity,
     reside in me.

About this poem

After years of drug and alchohol abuse, now being sober, after losing wife and kids, i was reflecting on natures peace and wishing to have that peace.
