Resort Report

If your funding is nil, Then don’t even try it
If you’re footing the bill, I’d suggest a small diet.
We’re the best in the business; We’re second to none
And we’ll beg your forgiveness, If you’re not having fun
Though all the amenities; Perfection and flair
Invariably dissipate, Once you get here
But come visit paradise, We’ll save you a seat
And an umbrella drink, Once your payment’s complete
We’ll perform every task,  And the beach will be sunny
'Cause we’re after the cash, And milking your money
We’ll make life picture perfect, So what could be better
Your funds will be hurting, We'll ransack your cheddar
So let’s end all the banter - And stop all the chatter
Since to be very candid, It’s the mullah that matters
We’ll rake it in, take it in, Snatch it and grab it
Because of our stake in it, Theft is our habit
We don’t really care about the things that you need
But we will take your credit card, That’s guaranteed
If you’re seeking a place, To have sex or get married
Then make no mistake, We prefer cash and carry
We’ll put all our time in, But when it’s all done
You’ll note in the fine print, There are no refunds
So bring all your family, recruit all your friends
‘Till your pocketbooks, wallets and bank accounts end … CHK 6/17/2019

About this poem

This was my entry for the Miriam Webster’s poetry contest Back in 2019. It was supposed to be a Haiku about "summer resorts and splitting the bill." Their rules not mine. Never heard back from them but I thought it was a pretty cool. Just started rambling on until I felt like stopping (Way Too Lengthy) but I had fun Whipping it up.
