Free verse
Life’s Highway

I looked for direction but all I could see,
was a shadow of you walking beside me

You took my hand and led me on
to find a signpost which I leaned upon

Each way pointed straight ahead
so I took the path from which I read

On life’s highway enjoy each day
It’s only lent not here to stay .

About this poem

My thought process led me into writing this poem from a period in my life that over shadowed me .
