Another Dream

Jason Bliss 1997 (Illinois)

Every night, Every week
I wish youd think of me
But all that sounds so hopeless
So i wander endlessly
Dreaming of a kind of you
That's been dreaming of me
And i can't walk away
Because you were my everything

Now I'm just an afterthought
A distant memory
Of all my thoughts of you
That caress me while i think
They comfort me to bed
So i don't cry myself to sleep
I try so hard to see you again
If only in my dreams

But i won't lie awake,
And i won't hesitate,
To shut the world away.
Because I'm not really ready,
Ready for this heart to break.

So i start to paint a picture
But you're always on the mind
Like the late Dali
But you're the melting time
So i draw another face
But that face comes out as mine
Then i see us standing there
And everything feels fine.

But i won't lie awake,
And i won't hesitate,
To shut the world away.
Because I'm not ready,
No I'm not ready,
For this heart to break.

Jason Bliss

I'm an aspiring writer from Illinois. I have written over 120 poems and i am working on two books. I've never been published, but i do hope to be someday. I don't need or want money, i just want to share my thoughts, feelings, and experiences with others who may be looking for something to relate to. If my writing brings about any emotion at all, i will be happy with it. I'm sorry for pushing all this pain onto my readers. more…
