READ ME LOVE

                              READ ME, LOVE

                                 Read my eyes,

                             mirrors of my soul,

                                my joyful heart

                            you tenderly hold,

                             my lips repeating

                              forever love you,

                             my kiss, my touch

                              faithful and true,

                            my walking, talking,

                                      integrity.

                                Read me, love,

                              the picture of me.

                                     Carmine

About this poem

For our 65th anniversary, I could not find an appropriate card that expressed the feelings of my heart. She at that time had entered the hospital for an ailment. Sitting next to her while she was asleep and remembering some of the most touching memories of our lives, I wrote READ ME LOVE on a napkin. When her deep hazel eyes opened, i gave it to her on proper paper. Of course, my usual happy face coupled the heartfelt feeling. She smiled and cried. 65 years with two hearts beating as one, the blessing lives. The simple things in life are the most effective. Carmine
