We work and work and work
What else shall we do?
We are made for work, not hullabaloo
Quietly, we enter our offices in the morning
Drink coffee to wake up, so that we can hear our boss’s scorning
Bosses are never happy, they always want more out of you
No matter what, the plan is to keep one busy producing more and more, take the boss’s cue
Where does the time go, in the work years?
After you go home, relax and have a couple of beers
Retirement, approaches and calls to us
Leave work, retire, don’t make a fuss
In retirement what is there to do?
Not much, we lose ourselves, we have identified with work, who are we, who?
So, we look for something to keep us busy
Finances are not the same as when working, worrying can make your hair frizzy
We work and work and work to be happy again
Where does it stop, this work life? No one can explain
All we can do, is be happy in life, no matter where we are
