Our Paper Ending

Our Paper Ending

As we ran from the wind as the sun blazes bright and lovely from above and, the soft green grass from beneath our feet, looking at your warm smile as the bird's chirp and our eyes meet as I thought of our future together was “My Imagination of our happy ending”.

Walking home feeling like the safest person as your hand wrapped around me, surely, we were meant to be. Talking for hours and only sleeping at three, feeling so happy and carefree was “My imagination of our happy ending”.

I was so sure I picked the best fish in the sea and yet you never even noticed me. Day after day from 7 to 13 I saw you but kept my distance and gradually you forgot of my existence. It felt as if there was glue stuck to my tongue and all the oxygen had been sucked from my lungs seeing you smile at her. I could feel all the tears start to pile up as I sat in shock for a while wondering how a blessing could ever feel like a curse, but I guess it's for the best.

My mind filled up with all these thoughts as you walked down that aisle with her by your side looking so happy the sight made me want to crawl into a hole, but I didn't with all the might my body had in me.

But the saddest part of this story is that our “happy ending” began and ended on paper.
